I genuinely get pissed off when I see comments on videos about white people not getting racism. I really do. I just watched a video of a Caucasian woman in who lives in South Korea and she addressed her views on a broadcasting company airing a video that was extremely ignorant and biased, targeting foreigners visiting there. And I read the comments and it’s as though they haven’t even watched the video at all. “White person talking about racism… Hmmm.” As well as along the lines of “Caucasians are valued by all societies, you guys don’t receive racism”.
I’ve even been told to my face by an asian that they would like to be white so they would not be prone to racism. Truth is, we get it too. I’ll admit, its generally nowhere near as bad in western countries as most of the time we are the majority number-wise, but if we aren’t prone to racism, why do we have stereotypes in the likes of Asian cultures? Why are there derogatory comments that exist that are directed at white people alone? I’m not 100% white and have received snide remarks for having a slightly mixed background. At the same time, people are gonna look at my gray eyes, fair skin, and brown hair and assume I’m 100% white. I’m absolutely fine with that. So why is that I’ve witnessed that of Pacific Asian decent make remarks about how lazy white people are? How self pretentious white people are. It still exists. If I were to go to countries where Caucasians were the minority, people’s curiosity and possibly “innocent” ignorance is still deemed as racism. Making fun of someone who has milk-white skin is equally as bad as doing the same to someone who has a lot darker skin. Yet, the likes of “Get a tan.” exists in many’s vocabulary. When there’s those who can’t physically tan well, it’s as though lighter skin isn’t as nice as slightly darker? The same may happen the other way around in other societies, but beauty standards aside, that is still showing a hierarchy based on skin colour that reflects someone based on how they appear. It’s fine to have a personal preference, but it’s gone too far when you feel the need to comment on others look.
There is still prejudice towards all races. Just because we’re in high numbers in western countries doesn’t mean we’re free from all racism.

and further, people should disregard someones support of racial equality just because they’re white either. JYP said the same thing but hey, that’s ok right?
If an opinion is morally right then it shouldn’t matter who it comes from.
